School has started, and I no longer feel like a boarder in the
uncontrollable chaos of my own home. In fact, I am extremely encouraged
by the wonderful way in which the boys play together and entertain
eachother. It has been going well enough that I am able to keep the
house clean, most days. I feel invested again, like it is MY home and I
want to put in the time and effort to keep it clean, organized and
beautiful. I have been pondering on what I enjoy doing, what I love. It
seems I tend to turn to tv when I have a moment to relax, and so often I
don't find satisfaction there. I have been playing around on Pandora,
finding relaxing music that I love. I am finding a new evening ritual of
putting kids down nice and early, house is tidy and quiet, and I sit
down at the computer to unwind for a few minutes with peaceful music. It really calms and relaxes me.
Tonight, I went to parent teacher conferences for Eve, Nia and Anna. Each of the teachers had wonderful things to say about how smart, obedient and hard working the girls were. Steve and I left feeling grateful and pleased. There was a wonderful thunderstorm with lots of rain when we got home. The kids had a lot of fun playing out in it. We celebrated the girls' school success with ice cream sundaes. :)
